Massage therapy utilizes a variety of techniques aimed at assessing and addressing issues predominantly in the musculoskeletal system. Just as each body is unique, each massage session is individualized to determine what issues or areas are the root causes of dysfunction in the body. Using palms, thumbs, forearms and elbows, muscles receive increased amount of oxygenated blood, helping them to recover from life's stressors more efficiently.

Functional diagnostic nutrition(FDN)

Have you ever felt not quite right but you just couldn't put your finger on it? Foggy brain, headaches and maybe you've noticed that you don't sleep as well as other people? Or that your energy dips every day at 3pm unless you have a coffee. Maybe you battle with constipation, bloating or gastrointestinal issues. Or maybe you read the above description and thought to yourself "That sounds like it's all me!". Then you aren't alone! FDN uses laboratory testing to identify internal stressors in our bodies; including hormonal dysregulation, food sensitivity testing, intestinal permeability, intestinal parasite testing and so much more. I work with a number of different labs across North America to provide the most comprehensive results and analysis possible, working one on one with clients to move towards better health both inside and out!

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is used in treatments or on its own to assess the movement and health of the craniosacral system, which runs from the sacrum, at the base of the spine, to the skull and encompasses all the vertebrae in between. It is an extremely gentle yet effective way of addressing issues such as whiplash, sciatica, tension headaches and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD). It can be combined with massage in treatments, or bookings can be specifically for an hour of craniosacral therapy. More information can be found at the Upledger Institute.

There are an increasingly large number of yoga teachers and forms which run the spectrum of esoteric to anatomical in their approach to the body. In private yoga sessions, I work with the client to identify areas of their practice where they are at risk of injury and how to avoid potential long term issues with an asana practice. Individual home practices are also developed to help the student find better movement patterns and a deeper understanding of their practice.
